The packets for aquariums wouldn't work as after a while the water would become to saturated by the bioplastic.

I looked into dog walkers, and designing a treat bag. An issue I have identified using with my own dog, is when I take him on longer walks/ day trips and we aren't home in time for his dinner.I can put some food in a plastic lunch bag and take it with me but it becomes quite wasteful after a while.

The dog food that I've seen in the vets and shops like, Sainsbury's , Tesco , Pets at Home , all sell dog food in large bags that are smaller are roughly 2-5kg, the heaviest can be 12kg+. Lily's Kitchen has a 1kg bag (£8.25) and 7kg bag (£51.00) Which is quite expensive. Its also impractical to carry 2kg worth of food on a day out, also different dogs require different food quantities per meal.

In order to reduce waste , I've decided to create food packets that contain a portion of dog food that can be strung together and clipped to the lead. The weight of the plastic is light as is the dog food.

I am designing this based around my own dog who is a Cocker Spaniel so my product will be aimed at small and medium sized dogs. I aim to create a lightweight packet, that once used can be tossed in a body of water, or torn and thrown on the ground - In terms of waste , it would be more beneficial to cover in some dirt so as not to litter, as it takes some time to degrade and it will degrade quicker.
